My Story! I received my BA in Kinesiology from  CSU Northridge and MA in Education (NU).  I currently teach and coach at a local high school.  I coach girls and boys high school volleyball.  Prior to falling in love with volleyball, I coached boys and girls basketball for over 18 years. In which include my son and two daughters. My favorite thing to do when not working or coaching is to watch my children grow in the sport of their choice, basketball(son) and VOLLEYBALL (daughters). In 2019/2020 Kanika coached the 12 Local team. She loves working with athletes of all ages and will be coaching the 17 Elite team at Forza1 and continue to help in the training programs in 2020/2021.

The mediocre coach tells.
The good coach explains.
The superior coach demonstrates.
The GREAT coach inspires.

So it is with GREAT pleasure that I am with the Forza 1 staff!

Ashlee is entering her third year as a Forza1 South Coach.  In 2018/2019 she helped coach our 16 National team before taking some time off to have a baby. Ashlee was the assistant coach to the 14 National Team, which took first place at Festival in 2017. Along with Forza, Ashlee has also been a member of the Murrieta Valley High School coaching staff.

Ashlee graduated from Murrieta Valley in 2004, where she was a member of the volleyball team as well as the Associated Student Body. Finding a balance of academics, athletics, and social are crucial to strengthening the qualities of not only an athlete, but a well-rounded “good human.”

After her time at Murrieta Valley she went onto play two years at OCC, where she led the Pirates to back to back State Championships. Ashlee also earned All-Conference recognitions both seasons as a Pirate. After her success at OCC she moved her talents to Tallahassee to continue her academic and athletic pursuit as a Seminole. At Florida State Ashlee received recognition of ALL ACC her senior year, while also earning the honor of All ACC Academic Team.  Ashlee graduated as a student athlete in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science.

Ashlee has continued to find the importance of creating strong student athletes through her work as a teacher, coach, and advisor. Ashlee has taught in Murrieta Valley Unified School District for 6 years and loves the ability to impact students in and out of the classroom.

Tom has been coaching volleyball for 8 years and playing for 26. Originally a basketball player, Tom was recruited from his high school  basketball team and it didn’t take long before he was hooked. In his first season, Tom helped his volleyball team reach their first CIF semifinals as the starting middle blocker; a trend which continued throughout his high school career, and helped his team become one of the most highly ranked boy’s volleyball programs in the area.

Injuries near the end of his high school career prevented Tom from making the jump to the collegiate level. After two years off, Tom began competing in both doubles and 6v6 tournaments at a national level.

Originally from Long Beach California, Tom, his wife Krista and their 3 kids, have lived in the Temecula/Murrieta area since 2007. When he isn’t coaching Tom can be found on local courts playing volleyball and basketball as well as mountain biking trails.

Tom is a big proponent of taking the time to do things the right way. He believes that focusing on proper technique is key and he works hard to bring out the best in his players. In 2018 he coached for the Middle School Volleyball league and in the 2018/2019 club season he coached the 14 Local Gold team. He also helped coach the 13UA team to a silver medal at AAU Nationals in Arizona.
