MEET URSULA

Ursula is a players coach who is passionate about building the fundamentals of the game from a young age.  In 2018/2019 Ursula was a big part of our Forza1 Boys program as a 18UA coach and mentor.  Her two children, Claire and Ian, both also committed to play college ball at BYU! In the 2017/2018 club season she coached the 17 National Boys team and finished 9th place overall. In 2016/2017 Ursula coached the 16 Elite Boys.  In 2015, Ursula coached our 14-1s Boys team and made incredible progress with an entire team of new players. She also coached our 12-1 Regional girls team and was able to help them learn a 6-2 and defensive systems (a feat at 12s)! If you watch Ursula coach her passion for training is demonstrated by her tireless effort to get it right and to really get it.

Ursula began her coaching career a year after she graduated from BYU. Her first role as head coach was as the Head Men’s Volleyball Coach at Mt San Antonio Community College.  She coached the men’s program for four years and then coached the women’s program for two years while earning her tenure as a community college professor.  In 2004, she ended her career as a coach and professor to become a stay at home Mom to her three young children. Ursula couldn’t stay away too long though as she is a natural coach and educator and has a young daughter who is getting involved in the sport.

As an athlete, Ursula Little played two years at Fullerton College and then two years at Cal State Fullerton. While at CSF, she completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Education and then went on to complete her Master’s of Science in Kinesiology at Brigham Young University. While at BYU, she was mentored by Carl McGown – one of volleyball’s most respected coaches.
